The jen8n advent calendar is a free digital advent calendar for people who build things, with 24 doors from December 1 to 24. Behind the doors are free Claude Code skills and hooks I use myself, small tools that run offline in your browser, checklists for shipping, and a few just-for-fun ones. Each door opens at midnight on your own clock, and you don’t need an account or an email to open it.

What’s inside a builder’s advent calendar?
I’m not naming doors or their days, since opening them is the fun part. Across the 24 you’ll find:
- Real Claude Code skill files and hooks from my own setup
- Small tools you save once and keep using, and they run in your browser without the internet
- Worksheets and checklists for getting a build out the door
- A naming game, plus a couple of doors that have nothing to do with work
- Two one-day codes for apps I built
If you’re new to skills, what a Claude Code skill is and how to make one covers the basics before door 1 opens.
Can I use your real Claude Code skills?
Yes. You can steal some of the real skills I use. They’re the same kind of files I run every day in my Claude Code setup, saved as downloads you can drop into your own skills folder and change to fit how you work.

Can you make your own digital advent calendar?
Yes, and I show you how I built this one, so you can make your own.
If you do make a digital advent calendar, I’d love to link to you so people can hop around to all the advent calendars. Send me the link through the jen8n contact page, and I’ll add it to the list below.
Hop around to other advent calendars
My other three blogs each have their own calendar, with different doors behind each one:
- Jen Tried It’s free digital advent calendar, with holiday printables and party games
- Seeding Serendipity’s advent calendar for adults, a gentler one for the new year
- Admin Arcade’s advent calendar of organizing printables, for getting the boring stuff sorted
How does the free advent calendar work?
- One door opens each day from December 1 to 24, at midnight where you live.
- Missed a day? Earlier doors stay open, so you can catch up.
- You don’t need an account or an email to open a door.
- Skill files, hooks and tools download straight to your computer.
- Each open door has a share button, so you can send a friend straight to it.
- The two app codes only work on the day their door opens.
Get a reminder when door 1 opens
Under the stocking on the calendar there’s a box called “Don’t miss a door.” Leave your email there and you’ll get one email on December 1 when the calendar opens. You can also check the box for a short email each morning when a new door opens, or use the buttons under the doors to add a daily reminder to Apple, Outlook or Google Calendar.
You never need an email to open a door. Still, if you sign up for the reminder or check the box for the jen8n newsletter, it would help me out a lot.

Frequently asked questions
When does the jen8n advent calendar open?
It opens December 1, 2026. Door 1 opens at midnight your time, and one more door opens each day through December 24.
Are the Claude Code skills in the calendar free?
Yes. Every door is free to open, including the ones with skill files and hooks. The two app codes are discounts on paid plans, and using them is up to you.
Do I need Claude Code to use the doors?
No. The skill files and hooks are for Claude Code, but the worksheets, checklists and small browser tools work on their own.
Can I get my own advent calendar linked here?
Yes. Make your own digital advent calendar, send the link through the jen8n contact page, and I’ll add it to the list of calendars to hop to.
What if I miss a day?
You can catch up any time. Once a door opens it stays open, so nothing is lost if you skip a few days.
